Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with visually impaired students (K-12) preferred, though motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with school teams, students, and families
- Ability to manage a flexible, itinerant schedule and travel across school locations
- Commitment to student-centered teaching approaches and individualized instruction
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and adapted curriculum to visually impaired students in various school settings
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related services staff, and families to support student learning and access
- Conduct functional vision assessments and adapt classroom materials for visually impaired access
- Offer consult services, teacher training, and recommendations for accessible resources and technology
