We are looking for an experienced Insurance Coordinator to join our team. The Insurance Coordinator will be responsible for managing insurance claims and working with insurance providers to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in managed care, claims, and insurance verification. Knowledge of ICD-10 and HIPAA regulations is a must. This role is crucial to our practice's financial health, as the Insurance Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring smooth operations.
As a new practice, the Insurance Coordinator will also play a key role in helping patients understand their treatment plans and coordinating insurance coverage for services provided. This will involve verifying insurance coverage, submitting and tracking insurance claims, obtaining pre-authorizations for procedures, and assisting patients with understanding their insurance benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility
- Submit and track insurance claims
- Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve any issues
- Obtain pre-authorizations for procedures from insurance providers
- Assist patients in understanding treatment plans and coordinating insurance coverage
- Ensure accurate coding of medical records for billing purposes
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Provide top-notch customer service to patients
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a dental office setting
- Strong knowledge of managed care, coding, and insurance verification
- Proficient in Dentrix Ascend office software
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
