SUMMARY:
This position oversees jobs related to the mixing, production and packing of semi-finished and finished food / snack products. Strategically direct, manage, and coordinate all activities within the food production facility to consistently operate at maximum performance. Maintains records for handling and storing materials in accordance with established procedures and production schedules. Primary accountabilities for production, quality, safety, associate excellence, delivery, and cost. Direct reports include all production team members and production lead.
FOOD SAFETY RESPONSILBILITIES
- Follow all HACCP product handling processes including prerequisite programs such as allergen management, GMP’s, monitoring of CCP’s, and SQF programs and implementation of corrective actions for FDA and SQF compliance.
- Ensure that all HACCP documentation is filled out completely and accurately.
- Alert QA Manager and Operation Leadership of any deviation to food safety requirements.
- Responsible for food safety
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Undertakes proper job training of all production team members.
- Adhere to safety standards on equipment by evaluating machine resources to guarantee productivity and minimal downtime.
- Oversee a work force of 20 plus team members in the production department.
- Ensure all team members follow industry standards health and safety guidelines.
- Sticks to production schedule, meeting target, ensuring completion and communicates any issues to Operation Leadership.
- Makes suggestions to Leadership regarding quality and output.
- Responsible for creating production team schedule focusing on efficiencies and leading all aspects of team performance to ensure necessary staffing meets required deadlines.
- Reports production results on daily basis to Operations Leadership & team.
- Conducts daily team meetings to review results and plan production.
- Works with Leadership in the areas of recruitment, hiring, and supervising of all production employees.
- Provides motivation, support, and guidance to all team member direct reports.
- Maintains time and production records, as well as manages all required rest and meal periods for production team members.
- Interprets company policies to team members and enforces schedule adherence.
- Confers with all other leaders to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Performs activities of team members supervised as business needs require.
- Acts as liaison between production team members and the Operations Leadership, Quality Assurance, etc.
- Prepared, able and cooperative to work variable shifts as business needs require.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or GED and one-year relevant experience required.
· 3+ years supervision experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
· Experience working with GMP’s, SQF, CCP’s, HACCP or similar quality systems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises all production team members and production lead.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Able to complete written reports and forms in English. Ability to verbally communicate with others to discuss and confirm written information. Ability to give verbal directions. Able to communicate well with all production team members including all other departments.
MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Able to lead a team and understand production/warehouse procedures. Able to exercise excellent judgment.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Experience utilizing Microsoft Office systems [Excel and Outlook] and ERP software.

While performing the duties of this job, the production supervisor is regularly required to stand and walk. The production supervisor is frequently required to use hands to handle, feel objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
Vision Requirements:
This position requires close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
