Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments, including dermatology, urgent care, and outpatient services.
- Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, and oxygen saturation levels.
- Prepare patients for exams by explaining procedures, collecting medical histories, and performing intake assessments.
- Perform phlebotomy, if certified, to collect blood samples following proper protocols and safety standards.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) efficiently by documenting patient information, medical histories, medication lists, and treatment plans with precision.
- Support medical office management through scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist with medication administration under supervision when appropriate and ensure proper documentation of all procedures performed.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate seamlessly with hospital teams or outpatient clinics to ensure continuity of care for inpatient or outpatient services.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in fast-paced healthcare settings such as dermatology clinics, urgent care centers, or hospital environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management.
- Preferred hands-on experience with phlebotomy.
- Essential experience: vital signs collection, intramuscular injection administration, and medical documentation.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical records management.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred; additional certifications related to medical assisting or specialized clinical skills are a plus.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately in diverse healthcare environments.
