Job Summary
Join our dynamic construction team as a Paint Department Float, where you will serve as a versatile and proactive team member. The paint personnel is responsible for driving efficiency in preparing and applying paint coatings to forklifts and related equipment. This role involves surface preparation, mixing paint, operating spray equipment, and ensuring high quality finishes while following safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Clean, sand, grind, and prepare forklift surfaces for painting.
- Remove rust, old paint, grease, and debris from equipment.
- Mask and cover parts that should not be painted.
- Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to specifications.
- Apply paint using spray guns, brushes, or rollers.
- Inspect painted surfaces for quality, coverage, and defects.
- Touch up imperfections and perform final finishing work.
- Maintain painting equipment and keep work areas clean.
- Follow safety procedures regarding paints, solvents, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Document completed work and report any equipment issues.
- Complete projects on time and within specifications.
- Maintain spray booth cleanliness and replace filters in accordance with shop guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of booth filters, supplies, and related equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in industrial, automotive, equipment, or forklift painting preferred.
- Knowledge of paint preparation, spray gun usage, and finishing processes.
- Ability to use sanders, grinders, spray guns, and other painting tools.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a manufacturing or shop environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
