Job description:
Responsible for verifying the manufacturing processes and inspection of products through blast, coating and paint. Monitors production flow, reporting progress on a pre-determined base and ensuring compliance to both local procedures and product specifications. Able to read and interpret product data sheets for paint and coating systems. Performs in-process and final inspections ensuring that all manufactured products meet customer specifications while achieving superior quality and reliability levels.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts in-process inspections of blast, coating and paint operations.
- Measures blast surfaces using replica tape and micrometer readings to ensure anchor profile meets manufactures requirements.
- Performs holiday testing using low and high voltage test equipment to ensure coating applications are free from discontinuities.
- Tests and records dry film thickness (DFT) readings using calibrated gauges.
- Compares inspection results to Product Data Sheets to ensure compliance with coating application standards and manufacturer’s specifications.
- Reviews product compared to drawings and specs to ensure all acceptance criteria is fully met.
- Follows required verifications and inspections and documents results on Inspection and Test Plans, as well as coating and inspection reports.
- Perform visual inspection of incoming equipment from sub-contractors.
- Responsible for final inspection of completed units to all required final testing and acceptance.
- Contributes to continuous improvement by evaluating existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality and production within limits of equipment capabilities.
- Initiates Nonconformance Reports, records deficiencies found during inspection process and coordinates required action plans or repairs with operations.
- Review and verification of paperwork for correctness, accuracy and completeness.
- Performs a variety of functions and or tasks necessary for the successful operation of the facility as assigned by management of the company.
- Actively supports, participates in, and maintains the integrity and ongoing function of the company and facility’s safety program.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE / JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 1 year experience in working with coating applications.
- Must be results-oriented, be able to maintain positive relationships with all levels of staff, be a team player, and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to physically work in confined spaces, crawling into vessels and tanks to perform visual inspections and product testing.
- Good communication, critical thinking, time management and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, product data sheets and product technical specifications
- Must be results-oriented, be able to maintain positive relationships with all levels of staff, be a team player, and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
