JOB TITLE: QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER
JOB OVERVIEW:
Food Distribution Center is seeking an experienced and detail–orientated Quality Assurance Manager to lead and oversee all Quality & Food Safety Programs at our supplier / vendor facilities. The QA Manager will ensure that all products meet or exceed regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality standards for a strong culture of food safety and continuous improvements. QA Manager will drive excellence in product safety, quality, and compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee Quality Control and inspection processes at vendor / suppliers to identify areas for improvement and ensure product consistency and safety.
- Lead Quality Audits across manufacturing facilities to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Manage the documentation of quality systems, including procedures, reports, and corrective actions records.
- Manage all COA documentation on incoming shipments.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure traceability for all lots.
- Ensure compliance with supplier’s / vendor’s Food Safety Programs including but not limited to HACCP Program, FSMA, GFSI, Food Safety Plans – Allergen Programs – Gluten Free Regulations – Food Defense Program – Pest Control Program.
- Investigate & resolve QA complaints and non-conformance holds from vendor / suppliers.
- Maintain and strengthen Food Safety Systems to ensure regulatory and customer requirements are consistently met.
- Lead investigations related to product deviations, quality incidents, customer complaints, and audit findings.
- Review with Label Committee all nutritional panel changes to ensure specifications comply with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the Allergen Management Program including label review and approve for regulatory compliance and accurate allergen declarations.
- Make sure warehouse facilty is always prepared for regulatory inspections.
- Maintain all audit records, certificates, and other Food Safety information for inspectors.
- This key leadership role is essential for protecting consumers, safeguarding our brand, and driving operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of FDA regulations applicable to food & beverage products, HACCP protocols, CGMP practices, and ISO – GFSI.
- Demonstrates ability to conduct thorough quality audits and inspections while maintaining meticulous documentation.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data and develop strategic solutions for continous improvement.
- Education or certification in Food Science, Food Safety, Microbioligy, Biology & other Physical Sciences.
- 5 years prior work history within the food industry.
TRAVEL REQUIRED:
- Minimal – This position is in person – onsite – however, requested to travel to several suppliers annually for sanitation / audit visits are possible.
