Tax Supervisor - Engin
A growing Phoenix CPA firm is hiring a Tax Supervisor to own complex client engagements, lead a close-knit team, and build a real advisory practice - without the grind of a Big 4 churn cycle.
What you will do

Review and sign off on complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S-corps, and C-corps

Serve as the primary year-round advisor for an assigned client portfolio, delivering proactive tax planning - not just compliance

Mentor and develop staff and senior accountants through direct feedback, technical coaching, and engagement reviews

Conduct in-depth tax research on nuanced issues, translating findings into clear client-facing recommendations

Manage concurrent engagement timelines, coordinating across internal teams to hit every deadline

Identify tax-saving opportunities and communicate strategies that strengthen client retention and referrals
What you need

5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and lead staff independently

Proficiency with professional tax software and Microsoft Excel
Nice to have

Active CPA license (encouraged but not required - candidates in process welcome)

Experience with multi-state or pass-through entity taxation

Prior supervisory or team-lead title in a public accounting setting

Base salary range of $110,000 to $125,000 per year, commensurate with experience
