Position Summary
The General Retail Worker is responsible for supporting day-to-day retail operations by providing excellent customer service, maintaining store cleanliness and organization, and ensuring products are properly stocked and displayed. This role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to assist in a variety of tasks to keep the store running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer questions, provide product information, and help customers locate items.
- Deliver a positive shopping experience and address basic customer concerns.
Stocking & Merchandising
- Stock shelves, displays, and coolers with merchandise as needed.
- Ensure products are properly rotated and organized.
- Maintain attractive, full, and well-organized displays.
Cash Handling & Transactions (if applicable)
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.
- Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment responsibly.
- Issue receipts and assist with basic transaction inquiries.
Cleaning & Store Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, work areas, and storage spaces.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Ensure the store remains safe and presentable for customers and staff.
Inventory & Support
- Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing stock.
- Help monitor inventory levels and report low stock to management.
- Support the Retail Manager and team with additional tasks as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 30–50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
- Experience in stocking, merchandising, or inventory management.
Work Environment
- Retail store setting with frequent customer interaction.
- May include standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
- Occasional lifting, bending, and stocking duties required.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
