NumInformatics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support a federal financial regulatory project. The successful candidate will analyze complex financial datasets, develop analytical solutions, support business and technical stakeholders, and lead data-driven initiatives within cloud-based environments. This role requires strong experience with financial regulatory data, business analysis, data visualization, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex financial and regulatory datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions, technical designs, and reporting requirements.
- Lead business analysis activities, including planning and facilitating design sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports using Tableau.
- Extract, transform, validate, and analyze data using SQL, Python, SAS, R, and other analytical tools.
- Develop efficient SQL queries and analytical workflows for large-scale datasets across cloud and relational database environments.
- Support data integration, ETL processes, data quality assessments, and anomaly detection.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, business users, and technical teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, analytical reports, and presentations for project stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance to junior analysts.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance data quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst.
- 5+ years of experience working with financial services or regulatory data, preferably supporting a U.S. federal financial regulatory agency (e.g., CFTC, SEC, FDIC, Federal Reserve, OCC) or financial institutions and regulated entities.
- Experience performing business analysis, facilitating requirements gathering sessions, and translating business needs into technical designs.
- Strong experience using SQL, Python, SAS, R, or similar analytical tools.
- Hands-on experience developing dashboards using Tableau.
- Experience working with AWS data services such as Amazon Redshift, QuickSight, or SageMaker.
- Experience querying, analyzing, and optimizing large datasets using relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Understanding of ETL processes, data quality management, and data validation techniques.
- Experience collaborating with financial subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
- Strong technical writing, presentation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience leading project tasks or cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting CFTC or other U.S. federal financial regulatory agencies.
- Experience working with very large datasets (1+ billion records) across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Familiarity with financial risk management software such as GlobalRisk or FirmRisk.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), JupyterHub, or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Eikon (LSEG Workspace), MATLAB, or RStudio.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
