Position Overview
Requires energetic sales professional with a passion for interior design, architecture, and luxury building materials. The Slab Sales Specialist is expected to drive growth throughout the Greater Detroit Metro territory, including East and Central Michigan, by specifying and selling premium natural stone, quartz, and porcelain slabs.
This role focuses on building strong relationships with fabricators, kitchen and bath designers, architects, high-end builders, and general contractors.
Key Responsibilities
· Drive revenue: Source new business and grow existing accounts across the Detroit metro area, extending into East and Central Michigan.
· Build client relationships: Develop and maintain strong partnerships with stone fabricators, interior designers, architects, builders, and general contractors.
· Provide product consultation: Guide clients through the company’s inventory of premium quartz, porcelain, and natural stone slabs.
· Develop the market pipeline: Conduct field sales visits, presentations, and product CEU seminars for design firms and industry partners.
· Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with showroom, kitchen and bath sales, and logistics teams to support accurate order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
· Serve as a subject matter expert: Participate in trade associations such as HBA, NKBA, IIDA, ASID, and other industry organizations. Some activities may occur outside normal business hours.
Qualifications
· Experience: 2+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in building materials, tile, stone, or interior design.
· Industry knowledge: Familiarity with stone fabrication processes, quartz properties, and porcelain slab applications is highly preferred.
· Skills: Strong negotiation, relationship-building, teamwork, and CRM software skills.
· Mobility: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally throughout East and Central Michigan.
