If you went to law school to genuinely help everyday families, you might feel disillusioned by the reality of corporate law firms. Tracking your life in 6-minute increments and billable targets can keep you from being the legal counselor your clients deserve.
We are an award-winning estate planning and probate firm in Kent that does things differently. We pride ourselves on our downhome, professional manner. We treat our clients like neighbors and our team like family. We are seeking an Estate Planning and Probate Attorney who wants to learn the ropes, build deep community roots, and practice meaningful law without a ticking clock over their head.
What Your Day Will Look Like:
- Conducting comfortable consultations with local clients to understand their families, assets, and long-term wishes.
- Drafting custom estate plans including, but not limited to, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Guiding families through the probate process with empathy, clarity, and diligence.
- Learning directly from experienced practitioners who prioritize true mentorship over micromanagement.
What We Look For:
- WSBA membership in good standing (or pending bar results with a clear path to imminent admission).
- 0 to 5 years of legal experience; a genuine interest in estate planning and probate is mandatory.
- Excellent interpersonal skills—you must be able to put clients at ease and explain complex legal concepts in plain English.
- A desire to work in a collaborative, focused team setting. This is an entirely in-office role Monday through Friday at our Kent location, allowing for immersive, real-time mentorship and rapid skill development (with the potential to explore hybrid flexibility down the road as you gain autonomy).
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $70,000 – $95,000 base salary (No billable hour targets).
- Comprehensive Health Protection: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
- Retirement Security: Simple IRA with a company match.
- Time Off: Generous PTO accrual plan starting on your very first day.
- Professional Coverage: 100% firm-paid WSBA annual dues and continuing legal education (CLE) credits.
