WE ARE HIRING FOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment installation, facility upkeep, to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations at the MMFI facility. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, basic electrical knowledge, safe work practices, and the ability to respond quickly to equipment and facility needs.
WHAT ARE THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment, building systems, machinery, and facility assets.
· Inspect, operate, test, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and restore equipment to safe operating condition.
· Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, and other maintenance equipment.
- ·Assemble, install, align, balance, and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, plumbing, piping, hydraulic, pneumatic, and facility systems.
- Clean, lubricate, adjust, and maintain shafts, bearings, gears, drives, motors, belts, filters, and other machine components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, repair manuals, parts catalogs, checklists, and service instructions.
- Enter, update, and accurately document work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, repairs completed, parts used, and downtime information in ePAC or other maintenance tracking systems.
- Requisition parts, supplies, tools, and equipment from approved sources or obtain needed items from the maintenance area or tool room.
- Communicate equipment status, repair timelines, safety concerns, and maintenance needs to the Maintenance Supervisor and affected production personnel.
- Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements to reduce downtime, improve reliability, and support preventive maintenance planning.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, work instructions, environmental requirements, and safety rules.
- Comply with all safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment, hazard communication, and safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED COMPETANCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.
- Experience with electrical wiring, general plumbing, basic carpentry, pipe fitting, and weld repair.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, lifting equipment, ladders, and maintenance vehicles or equipment after required training.
- Knowledge of hoists, winches, hydraulic booms, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, motors, drives, belts, and related equipment.
- Ability to determine required installation, service, repair, or replacement needs.
- Ability to read and understand technical operating, service, and repair manuals; blueprints; technical drawings; work orders; instructions; formulas; and processing charts.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond to maintenance needs in a timely manner.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with maintenance, production, supervision, and outside vendors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Minimum of five years of related maintenance experience required.
- Prior experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or facility maintenance environment preferred.
- Preferred qualifications include technical training, trade school coursework, or certifications in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, or related fields.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and perform bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and stretching as required.
- May be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, around moving equipment, near electrical hazards, and in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, or outdoor conditions.
- Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility and may require use of personal protective equipment.
- Must be flexible in schedule and available to work overtime, weekends, or call-ins as required.
