ABOUT THE POSITION:
Allora is looking for a Barback to support our bar team and help deliver an exceptional guest experience. This position works closely with bartenders to ensure the bar operates efficiently throughout service by assisting with preparation, stocking, organization, and cleanliness. The ideal candidate is hardworking, detail-oriented, and passionate about hospitality and beverage service. This position has the potential to grow into a bartender role for the right candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Assisting bartenders throughout service to ensure smooth bar operations
- Preparing garnishes, juices, syrups, and other cocktail ingredients
- Stocking liquor, beer, wine, glassware, ice, and bar supplies
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization behind the bar and in storage areas
- Washing and polishing glassware
- Assisting with opening and closing bar duties
- Monitoring inventory levels and communicating restocking needs
- Removing empty bottles, trash, and recyclables from bar areas
- Delivering beverages to guests when needed
- Anticipating the needs of bartenders and guests
- Following all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Occasionally assisting with other front-of-house duties as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience within a premier restaurant establishment preferred
- Knowledge of, experience with, and passion for wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails preferred
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Hardworking, passionate, and able to take direction in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Willingness and drive to learn and grow
- Able to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
