Full-Time Patrol Officer
The Boxford Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Patrol Officer. We are a progressive, community-oriented law enforcement agency seeking motivated, professional, and service-oriented individuals who are committed to integrity, teamwork, and exceptional public service.
Position Responsibilities
Patrol Officers perform a broad range of law enforcement and public safety duties, including responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, conducting proactive patrols, investigating criminal offenses and motor vehicle crashes, enforcing Massachusetts General Laws, traffic regulations, and local bylaws, participating in community outreach initiatives, and performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be graduates of a Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) Full-Time Police Academy or possess a permanent MPTC waiver. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and possess or be able to obtain a valid Massachusetts License to Carry (LTC). Applicants must also meet all certification requirements established by the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission and be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation & Benefits
The current Full-Time Patrol Officer base salary ranges from $74,681 to $86,041, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. Officers also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including a 5% evening shift differential, 8% midnight shift differential, educational incentive, EMT stipend, annual uniform allowance, and (12) paid holidays.
