BrightStar Care of Camden & Cherry Hill (Maison Care LLC) | Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 | Full-Time, On-Site + Field
About the Role:
BrightStar Care of Camden & Cherry Hill is a licensed New Jersey Health Care Service Firm providing RN-supervised home care across Camden County — Cherry Hill, Haddonfield, Voorhees, Collingswood, and surrounding communities. We serve private-pay families, long-term care insurance clients, VA beneficiaries, and commercial insurance cases.
We are hiring a full-time Registered Nurse to serve as Director of Nursing (DON) and lead all clinical operations. This is the #2 role in the agency. You will own clinical quality, CHHA supervision, and regulatory compliance — and you will lead our Joint Commission accreditation project, a defined, high-visibility initiative that unlocks hospital referral partnerships and positions you for a Multi-Site Clinical Director path as we expand into new territories and residential assisted living.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary: $85,000–$95,000/year (W-2, full-time, commensurate with experience).
- Performance bonus: up to $10,000/year, tied to defined, measurable targets set jointly at hire (e.g., supervisory-visit timeliness, documentation compliance rate, client satisfaction scores, accreditation milestones)
- Paid Time Off: 10 days annually (non-accruing, use-it-or-lose-it), plus paid sick leave in accordance with the New Jersey Earned Sick Leave Law (accrues at 1 hour per 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours per year)
- Mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard rate for all field visits
- Please note: we do not currently offer group health, dental, or retirement benefits. As a growing agency, our compensation is structured into base salary; benefits offerings will be evaluated as the agency scales.
- Shared on-call rotation with the owner and clinical team (schedule defined in writing at hire)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday 9 am to 5 pm core schedule, plus in-home assessments conducted after hours and on weekends as required to meet client admission timelines. New client assessments frequently occur evenings and weekends because that is when families are available and when referrals convert — this is an essential function of the role, not an occasional exception. In exchange, you have genuine flexibility to self-manage your weekday field vs. administrative time.
- This is an on-site and in-field position based at our Cherry Hill office (08034) with regular travel to client homes across Camden County. This is not a remote or hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Oversight & Care Management
- Conduct in-home nursing assessments for new clients and reassessments per agency policy and NJ regulations — including after-hours and weekend assessments when required to meet admission timelines
- Develop, update, and monitor individualized plans of care
- Launch and oversee higher-acuity and skilled cases as the agency's service lines grow
- Participate in the shared on-call rotation
CHHA Supervision & Compliance
- Complete CHHA supervisory visits within required timeframes under NJ Board of Nursing regulations (N.J.A.C. 13:37-14) and agency policy
- Review CHHA documentation, task logs, and daily notes
- Conduct skills competency checks and annual evaluations
- Serve as clinical escalation point for field performance and training needs
Licensure, Accreditation & Regulatory
- Maintain agency compliance with NJ Division of Consumer Affairs Health Care Service Firm registration requirements and NJ Board of Nursing regulations
- Lead the agency's Joint Commission accreditation project — policies, mock survey readiness, and clinical documentation standards, with playbooks and mock-survey support from the BrightStar Care national network (a brand in which locations are required to pursue and earn Joint Commission accreditation)
- Maintain accurate clinical records in the EMR system (ABS)
- Represent the agency during state surveys, audits, and accreditation visits
Team Leadership & Referral Support
- Lead caregiver clinical onboarding and orientation
- Own the Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
- Serve as clinical liaison to referral partners: skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, rehab centers, geriatric care managers, and case managers
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in New Jersey
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience; 2+ years in home care, home health, or clinical leadership strongly preferred
- Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain before start)
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance (driving to client homes is an essential function of this role)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and meet all NJ health screening requirements (including TB screening) as required for Health Care Service Firm personnel
- Experience with home care software (ABS, WellSky, or similar EMR) preferred
Physical Requirements
This role involves regular travel to client homes, standing, walking, and occasional lifting/repositioning assistance consistent with in-home nursing assessment duties. Reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with the ADA and NJ Law Against Discrimination.
Who Thrives Here
This is not a desk job or a compliance-only role. It fits a clinical builder who:
- Wants ownership of clinical systems and standards, not just maintenance of someone else's
- Takes pride in developing caregivers and raising the floor of care quality
- Is energized by an accreditation project with a clear finish line and visible payoff
- Understands that in home care, admissions happen on the client's clock — and accepts evening/weekend assessments as part of owning the clinical program
- Wants a defined growth path — DON today, Multi-Site Clinical Director as we expand
