This role is for individuals interested in supplementing their income and gaining front-line security experience with a growing company. This position is ideal for those seeking part-time employment that can be built into a full-time schedule over time, while still allowing the freedom to adjust hours up or down as circumstances change.
Hours/Shifts- Currently hiring for day/night and weekend. Shift vary depending on assignment, with many shifts being early in the morning; some assignments are geared toward 24/7 coverage.
Work is performed in hospitals, clinics, and transport vehicles and may involve exposure to medical settings, individuals in custody, and potentially stressful or confrontational situations. Officers must be able to walk, stand, sit, climb stairs, and lift or restrain up to 30 pounds as needed to perform security duties.
Pay rate: $20 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Security Officer assigned to medical security duties is responsible for:
- Providing secure transportation and secure escorts for individuals to and from medical appointments and all areas of medical facilities, including but not limited to X-ray, laboratory, physical therapy, surgery, and other clinical departments.
- Supervising and providing security while individuals receive treatment in emergency rooms and during any subsequent admission to hospitals, mental health facilities, or clinics.
- Screening, searching, and monitoring approved visitors during limited visitation periods, in accordance with written approval from the warden or designee, to prevent the introduction of contraband or other security risks.
- Maintaining security presence while medical personnel administer treatment or provide medical services in order to prevent escape attempts, hostage situations, or the introduction of contraband.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicant must be physically and mentally capable of maintaining order in stressful, confrontive, and dangerous situations.
- Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED certificate
- Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
- Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen at the time of appointment.
- Applicants must possess a valid driver's license from their State of residency.
- Applicants must possess a valid ASRB license, if license is armed must have a valid pistol permit.
- If you have temporary ASRB licenses, please apply; however you cannot take assignment until the license is deemed Active and valid.
- Applicants must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
- Applicants must pass pre-employment background check and drug test screening.
- If an applicant is a veteran of the armed forces of the United States, their discharge must be under honorable conditions.
- Applicants must have an acceptable driving record; preference will be given to candidates with a clean motor vehicle record and no recent moving violations or DUI convictions.
- Applicants must be able to communicate verbally and in writing and will be able to effectively respond to emergencies.
Additional Qualifications
- Applicants must successfully complete a background investigation which includes a fingerprint-based criminal history background check and drug screening. Applicants with a felony and/or domestic violence conviction are not eligible for employment.
- Applicants must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor offense involving moral turpitude or any similar offense.
- Applicants must not have been convicted of misdemeanor violent offense
- Applicants must not have ever been convicted of a misdemeanor sexual offense
Training
Before candidates can become employed by the company, they must pass additional training to 8-16 hours of annual training and client specific training.
The company will assist with ASRB renewals and compliance, as maintaining those credentials is a condition of employment.
