We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing safe and reliable transportation services while ensuring a positive experience for all passengers. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle, and a strong focus on customer service.
Duties
- Safely operate various types of buses, including paratransit vehicles and shuttles, following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior and exterior.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes, schedules, and any changes.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, especially those with disabilities or special needs.
- Handle any customer service inquiries or concerns in a professional manner.
- Keep accurate records of daily activities, including passenger counts and incident reports.
- Collaborate with dispatchers and other team members to ensure timely service delivery.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus operation.
- Experience in bus driving, shuttle driving, or as a delivery driver is preferred.
- Familiarity with paratransit services is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English; ability to interact positively with diverse groups of people.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
