Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Body Shop Painter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality paint finishes to vehicles after repairs, ensuring a flawless appearance that meets manufacturer standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced work environment, while maintaining high standards. Pay is based on experience and efficiency, with bonuses based on time turned.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply primers, paints, coatings, and clear coats using conventional spray guns or airless paint sprayers with precision and consistency
- Use hand tools, grinders, and power tools to perform surface repairs, sanding, and finishing tasks
- Conduct auto body refinishing tasks including buffing, detailing, and auto restoration for a polished final look
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols such as respiratory protection standards
- Collaborate with technicians and estimators to ensure quality standards are met throughout the repair process
Skills
- Proven experience in auto body painting within a dealership or collision repair environment (dealership experience preferred)
- Proficiency with automotive buffing, sanding, surface preparation, masking techniques, and coating application
- Skilled in using hand tools, grinders, spray guns (including airless systems), and power tools for surface finishing
- Knowledge of automotive surface preparation techniques and auto painting best practices
