The Opportunity:
Marin Country Day School seeks gifted educators who are passionate about teaching students using a rich and rigorous curriculum. We seek educators with a demonstrated background and or interest in cultural competency, curriculum development, technology integration and environmental sustainability. Also, we seek educators with the belief in teaching with the interests of the whole child in mind. Primary Responsibilities include:

Instructional Delivery: Implement pre-planned lesson plans effectively to maintain academic momentum and engage students in active learning.

Adaptability & Lesson Planning: Design and execute age-appropriate learning activities on short notice when standard lesson plans are unavailable.

Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment in alignment with school discipline policies.

Student Safety & Supervision: Maintain active supervision to ensure the health, safety, and overall well-being of students in classrooms, hallways, and common areas.

Duty Coverage: Perform assigned supervisory duties as directed by administration, including recess/playground, lunchroom, and dismissal/carpool duty.

Administrative Compliance: Check in and out at the Main Office daily, complete required attendance records accurately, and clarify campus policies or procedures as needed.

Incident Reporting: Promptly report all student injuries, medical concerns, safety issues, or significant behavioral incidents to administration or designated staff.

Resource Management: Exercise reasonable care to safeguard school equipment, materials, facilities, and assigned keys, returning all items to proper storage before departure.

Dismissal Procedures: Ensure orderly classroom dismissal according to schedule (3:05 PM standard / 2:00 PM Wednesdays) and supervise students until properly released.

Teacher Feedback & Documentation: Leave comprehensive notes for the regular classroom teacher summarizing completed work, student behavior, attendance, and collected assignments.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Education or Child Development.

Knowledge & Expertise: Solid understanding of child development, effective conflict resolution skills, and a demonstrated ability to foster a positive, supportive learning environment.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Key Attributes: Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, highly dependable, adaptable, energetic, and skilled at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Availability: Flexible schedule with the ability to be on-call for both short- and long-term substitute assignments.
Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation for substitute positions is provided as a daily flat rate at $200 per full day, while assignments of 3.5 hours or fewer are compensated at $100 per half day.

Eligible for California Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state law.
