We are a growing, family-oriented manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and strengthen our safety culture across multiple facilities. Position Summary
The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, health, safety, and emergency response programs across our manufacturing and distribution operations. This individual will ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations while partnering with leadership and employees to foster a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.
This role will serve as a key resource for Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management (RM), regulatory compliance, employee training, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position may also provide support to additional facilities as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage environmental, health, and safety programs across manufacturing operations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, PSM, RM, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Partner with management and employees to proactively address workplace safety and environmental risks.
- Serve as the primary liaison with local emergency response agencies and regulatory organizations.
- Support new product development, facility modifications, and equipment installations through PSM and risk reviews.
- Maintain EHS records, compliance documentation, and safety performance metrics.
- Coordinate hazardous waste management and ensure proper disposal practices.
- Develop and communicate safety goals, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and training to employees, supervisors, and leadership teams.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3–5 years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing regulatory compliance programs and workplace safety initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS best practices.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Preferred
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management (RM) programs.
- Experience within chemical manufacturing, adhesives, coatings, polymers, or related industries.
- Experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene, hazardous waste management, and environmental compliance.
- Continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or related operational excellence experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, sit, and move throughout manufacturing environments for extended periods.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods as required.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when in operational areas.
- Ability to travel by car and/or air up to 25% of the time, including occasional overnight travel.
