Mostly From Scratch is a growing meal prep company looking for a dependable and efficient cook to join our team in our Englewood, NJ commercial kitchen.
This is a hands-on position supporting the weekly preparation and packaging of fresh, fully prepared meals. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen, follows recipes and portion instructions accurately, and is willing to help wherever needed.
Schedule:
Sundays, approximately 5:00 AM–2:00 PM
Additional hours may become available as the business grows.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook proteins, vegetables, grains, sauces, and other menu items according to provided recipes
- Follow weekly production instructions and complete assigned dishes on schedule
- Accurately portion and package individual and family-size meals
- Assist with labeling, organizing, and preparing completed orders
- Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the shift
- Follow proper food-handling, temperature-control, and sanitation procedures
- Communicate immediately about ingredient shortages, preparation issues, or delays
- Help with additional kitchen duties as needed
Qualifications
- Previous cooking, catering, restaurant, meal prep, or commercial kitchen experience preferred
- Comfortable preparing food in large batches
- Able to follow written recipes and detailed instructions
- Strong attention to portion consistency and presentation
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work efficiently
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to lift approximately 25–40 pounds
- Must have reliable transportation to Englewood, NJ
- Food Handler Certification is preferred
