Job Summary:
Responsible for the delivery and batch mix of ordered concrete and other associated products to job sites in a safe and efficient manner.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares truck for operation by inspecting general condition, checking fluid levels and tire pressure, obtaining or scheduling required repairs, and validating adherence to road-ability standards in accordance with DOT regulations and company standards;
- Performs routine operator maintenance;
- Complies with all safety regulations for operating mobile mixer truck, driving, and those at the job site as set forth by the company and regulations under 49 CFR Part 383;
- Wears all assigned PPE and uniforms, to include hard hat, safety glasses, and steel toed boots;
- Loads truck with necessary aggregates, sand, and cement powder according to prescribed procedures, including water and other required additives, while paying special attention to weight distribution and limits set forth by DOT regulations;
- Delivers product by identifying destinations; establishing routes, operating the truck, and maintaining schedules;
- Mixes and prepares concrete batch in accordance to order specifications, using approved mix designs;
- Documents and communicates with appropriate departments (QC/Ops), noting any variances to mixes as requested by customer along with testing and/or other job site issues;
- Discharges concrete, involving deployment of extension chutes, placing on main chute, driving in and out of areas with heavy pedestrian traffic and various other construction obstacles;
- Demonstrates understanding for customer needs and provides superior service for internal/external customers;
- Identifies and resolves customer complaints and/or forwards to the appropriate department;
- Upon completion of job washes residual concrete from truck;
- Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspections and documents using approved company forms;
- Maintains truck operating efficiency by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and scheduling necessary repairs;
- Maintains safe operation by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as federal, state, and local driving rules and regulations;
- Maintains cleanliness of both the exterior and interior of the truck;
- Maintains delivery, trucking, and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgments, recording tracking information, and by completing driver’s logs and truck performance forms;
- Expands job knowledge by participating in training opportunities;
- Utilizes opportunities to use job autonomy to maximize customer service, quality, and productivity while minimizing cost; and
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
