Position Summary
GDM-AE, Inc. is staffing for federal healthcare construction and design support work at active healthcare facilities in Palo Alto, CA.
The Senior Engineer provides senior leadership, mentorship, and decisive guidance on the technical management of engineering aspects of facility construction (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, safety). The Engineer provides consultative services on engineering aspects of building structures, supporting overall technical quality, cost, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering leadership and technical direction across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and safety disciplines for facility construction and renovation projects.
- Review and resolve engineering issues associated with construction documents, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Support overall design integration including scheduling, cost estimating, and constructability reviews.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, vendors, and federal client stakeholders on technical issues, RFIs, and submittals.
- Provide guidance regarding technical quality, cost, and schedule of engineering deliverables.
- The Senior Engineer mentors junior engineers and support quality assurance reviews of engineering deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited University.
- Senior Engineer: 10 years of experience in engineering (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, safety, etc.) and construction management of buildings and structures.
- Engineer: 7 years of experience in engineering (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, safety, etc.) and construction management of buildings and structures.
- Familiarity with scheduling, cost estimating, and overall design integration.
- Ability to review and resolve engineering issues associated with construction and specification documents.
- Healthcare, federal, hospital, or occupied institutional project experience preferred.
- PE license preferred.
Federal Contract Requirements
- Some local travel within the Palo Alto service area is part of normal duties.
- Tier 1 Low Risk / Non-Sensitive background investigation (NACI / SF-85) required prior to assignment.
- Must abide by all client facility rules, security procedures, and safety regulations.
- Employees represent themselves as contracted personnel, not federal employees, and do not perform inherently governmental functions.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000
