American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care hospital in Santa Rosa, CA, requiring a valid CA RN license and Level I trauma experience across neuro, vascular, and ortho specialties.

Work setting is a 277-bed acute care hospital Operating Room
-
Handles a broad surgical caseload including trauma, neuro, vascular, orthopedic, general surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, bariatrics, thoracic, plastics, and robotics (Da Vinci Xi)

Shift is days, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00) with variable start times of 7:00 or 9:00

Weekend work is required

On-call is required and distributed equally among nursing staff approximately every 6 weeks, potentially up to 6–8 shifts per 6-week period, including nights, evenings, and weekends (8-hour call shifts)

Occasional night shift coverage may be required within the contract period

Floating within the hospital and to nearby affiliate/sister facilities is required

Epic EMR is used and experience is required

Active CA RN license in hand at time of consideration — pending licenses are not accepted

BLS certification required

Minimum 3 years of OR experience required; 5 years preferred

Level I trauma OR experience required
-
Experience in neuro, vascular, and orthopedic surgery is required due to the facility's trauma status

Epic EMR proficiency required

Prior travel nursing experience required

2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Copy of certifications required for consideration

Candidate-facing scrub color information was not specified; scrubs are provided by the facility

Candidates must be willing to cover 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day

RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration

Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are accepted but may be subject to a different pay rate
-
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility

Floating to sister facilities within the state is expected; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Key surgical skills include vascular procedures (AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, femoral popliteal bypass), neurological procedures (craniotomy, spinal fusion, ALIF/XLIF), and orthopedic procedures (total joint replacement, open/closed fracture reduction)

Robotic surgery experience (Da Vinci Xi) is preferred
