Summary:
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) supports Radiologic Technologists in daily imaging operations, helping ensure a smooth, efficient, and patient-centered workflow. This role includes assisting with patient transport, preparing imaging exam rooms, restocking supplies, and providing support with patient care activities under the supervision of imaging personnel while working in a Diagnostic Radiology (X-Ray) department.
By contributing to both operational readiness and patient comfort, the Patient Care Assistant plays an essential role in delivering high-quality imaging services and a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities:
1.Maintains an environment of safety for patients, self and others. 2.Completes patient related duties according to the individual needs of the patient with full consideration of the patient's safety needs. 3.Assist with transport of patients to and from designated areas within the facility upon request to ensure patients arrive at the imaging department in a timely manner. 4.Cleans exam rooms, imaging equipment and accessories, and surroundings as needed. Uses appropriate cleaning solutions according to the level of disinfection required. 5.Ensures specimens are taken to appropriate department within the lab. Transports specimens, supplies and materials to and from departments within the institution. 6.Restocks supply areas with the unit including blanket warmers and fluid warmers and ensure supplies are within date according to policy. 7.Prepares exam rooms and fluoroscopy rooms prior to patient arrival and follows departmental protocol for the supplies needed for exam completion. 8.Assist at desk, answering phones, intercom and other duties as necessary. 9.Positions patient's safely under the direct supervision of a Radiologic Technologist and/or Physician.

- Six months related experience is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate clinical information, technical procedures, and health care issues. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from adult learners. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to implement critical thinking.
