Position Overview:
As a valued member of our team, the COTA will work collaboratively with licensed Occupational Therapists and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional rehabilitative care to patients in their homes. The COTA will play a vital role in assisting with the implementation of treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and promoting optimal outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in conducting patient assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct Occupational Therapy services to patients in their homes, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities, under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including changes in functional status and response to treatment interventions, in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Instruct patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, mobility aids, and home safety measures to facilitate optimal recovery and independence.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including documentation of treatment sessions, progress notes, and billing information.
- Adhere to all regulatory standards, ethical guidelines, and best practices in occupational therapy practice, including HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and stay abreast of current trends and best practices in Occupational Therapy.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy assistant program.
- Current MA state licensure as a COTA.
- CPR certification and credentials requested
- Prior experience in home care preferred, but not required
- Ability to lift, support, or move patients (generally up to approximately 50 pounds) with or without reasonable accommodation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a commitment to delivering patient-centered care.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to patients' homes as needed.
Pay: $50.00 per hour
