Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure fresh, high-quality offerings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including food prep stations and cooking equipment
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines
- Support food presentation to ensure dishes are visually appealing before serving
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and service
- Participate in catering events or special functions as needed, providing excellent food service and support
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department, restaurant, or food industry setting is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety practices
- Skilled in knife handling and meal preparation with attention to detail
- Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities and menu planning is a plus
- Excellent food handling skills with a focus on cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Prior experience in catering or serving is beneficial but not required
