Overview
We're a patient-focused optometry practice dedicated to providing exceptional eye care and an outstanding eyewear experience. We're looking for a friendly, detail-oriented optician to join our team and help patients find the perfect fit — literally and figuratively — for their vision needs.
What You'll Do
- Assist patients in selecting eyewear frames and lenses that fit their prescription, lifestyle, and budget
- Take accurate measurements for lens fitting (PD, segment height, etc.)
- Verify and dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring proper fit and comfort
- Perform minor frame adjustments and repairs
- Explain lens options, coatings, and warranties clearly to patients
- Process insurance benefits and handle billing related to eyewear purchases
- Maintain accurate patient records and order tracking
- Manage frame inventory and merchandising displays
- Provide friendly, professional customer service at the front desk and optical dispensary
- Collaborate with optometrists and staff to ensure smooth patient flow
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as an optician preferred (ABO certification a plus, but not required)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable with basic math and measurements
- Detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Familiarity with EHR/practice management software is a plus
- A positive, team-first attitude
Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
