Responsibilities
Provide direct labor and delivery nursing care to patients on-site.
Monitor and document patient status, vitals, and progress in real time.
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and policies.
Maintain accurate documentation to support performance metrics and quality targets.
Identify and escalate clinical issues promptly to ensure patient safety.
Adhere to regulatory, hospital, and department policies and standards.
Collaborate with obstetric and neonatal teams to ensure seamless patient flow.
Participate in on-site quality improvement projects and evidence-based practice.
Demonstrate professional development by pursuing certifications and advanced training.
Utilize hospital pipelines and dashboards to track progress toward targets.
Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and post-discharge care.
Experience/Qualifications
RN licensure and current state board certification, without restrictions
Minimum 2 years in labor and delivery nursing with obstetric/neonatal exposure
Ability to monitor, document vitals, progress, and medications accurately in real time
Strong patient safety focus with timely escalation of clinical issues
Proficiency with hospital EMR systems, pipelines, and dashboards for targets
Knowledge of regulatory, hospital, and departmental policies and standards
Collaborative mindset to work with obstetric and neonatal teams for flow
Participation in on-site quality improvement and evidence-based practice projects
Commitment to continuous professional development and pursuing certifications
Excellent communication skills to educate patients and families on procedures and care
