Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning by preparing components for daily specials and regular menu items
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with sanitation regulations
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours, including plating and garnishing dishes
- Handle food with care, utilizing knife skills and proper techniques for efficient meal preparation
- Contribute to catering orders and special event setups as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department, dietary aide role, or food service environment is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling practices
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in basic culinary tasks
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant or kitchen setting
- Knowledge of catering processes and serving procedures is a plus
- Prior kitchen experience within the food industry or restaurant environment preferred
