Security Instructor
Overview
We here at A&H Security are currently seeking a Certified Security Instructor to lead and facilitate NYS-mandated security training courses; including the 8-Hour Pre-Assignment, 8-Hour Annual, 16-Hour On-the-Job, and Fireguard preparation. The ideal candidate is a current or former licensed security guard with strong knowledge of industry standards, terminology, and New York State requirements.

Conduct training sessions for the 8-hour pre-assignment, 16-hour OJT, and 8-hour annual security courses.

Administer and oversee examinations for the 8-hour and 16-hour training modules.

Complete and maintain accurate administrative paperwork related to training and certifications.

Lead new hire Orientation and ensure all trainees understand course materials and requirements.

Instruct and issue NARCAN Certificates

Instruct, lead and issue DHS 40 Hour Shelter Training Certificates (in accordance to Local Law 124)

Requirements

Valid Security Instructor License issued by NYSDOL (New York State Department of Labor Licensing).

Prior experience in security training and instruction preferred.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage administrative tasks efficiently.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Must be comfortable with public speaking

Knowledge of technical tools and processes used during instruction, i.e., PowerPoint, Printed Materials, and basic classroom technology.

Strong knowledge of Fireguard procedures and terminology (F-01, F-02, F-03, etc.).

Skill in observation, coaching, evaluating and providing constructive feedback

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with employees at various levels and across diverse cultures

Customer Service, Professionalism and ability to de-escalate situations

Must be holder of F02 Fireguard and the F80 Fireguard

CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
