About the Role
The Membership & Volunteer Engagement Manager is a full people manager role with direct responsibility for leading, coaching, and holding a team accountable for results that drive girl membership growth and volunteer engagement across Greater Cincinnati.
We are seeking a proven people leader with prior experience directly managing staff, driving performance, using data to inform team decisions, and providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
The Membership & Volunteer Engagement Manager leads a team of approximately 4 staff members and oversees service delivery in communities within an assigned Cincinnati-area territory. This role is central to our membership and volunteer strategy and plays a key leadership role in advancing our mission.
This position requires comfort being present in the community—including evening and occasional weekend events—and the ability to regularly travel throughout the assigned territory.
Assigned Territories: Cincinnati Central (Downtown Cincinnati, Finneytown, Pleasant Ridge, Reading), Cincinnati West (Westwood, Cheviot, Price Hill, Harrison, Colerain) and Cincinnati North (Mason, Blue Ash, Indian Hill, Sharonville and Evendale)
What You'll Do
As the Service Delivery Manager, you will:
- Directly manage and lead a team of Recruitment Specialists and Volunteer Experience Specialists, providing clear direction, regular coaching, and accountability for results.
- Own people management responsibilities, including goal setting, performance feedback, annual evaluations, coaching plans, and corrective action when needed.
- Drive membership recruitment and retention outcomes by preparing your team to plan, execute, and track community-specific strategies aligned with council goals.
- Use metrics, data, and dashboards to monitor performance, identify trends, and adjust strategies to ensure productivity targets are consistently met.
- Develop and lead a community engagement strategy across assigned service units, schools, and community partners to expand Girl Scout visibility and participation.
- Model and lead strong collaboration with schools, community organizations, and cross-functional internal teams.
- Provide leadership support for council-wide initiatives such as product programs, program delivery efforts, and strategic projects
- Support volunteers through guidance, conflict resolution, communication, and recognition to ensure a high-quality Girl Scout experience.
- Represent Girl Scouts of Western Ohio at community events and meetings, including evenings and weekends as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has direct supervisor responsibility, managing a team of up to 6 staff.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time, salaried position. The days of work are primarily Monday through Friday, but evening work is frequent and occasional weekend work will be required, to support retail operations during peak seasons. Hours of work will vary, depending on support required by the council and time of year.
TRAVEL
Travel throughout our Council region and within the assigned territories is required to effectively support the needs of this dynamic team.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Experience managing a team of staff.
- Experience in recruitment and managing Volunteers.
- Experience in community development, building and maintaining community partnerships including school partnerships.
- Experience in nonprofit or mission-based organizations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This full-time, exempt position. The salary for this position is $50,500.00 and offers a generous health and wellbeing benefits package.
