JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Maintenance and Repair Manager, the Maintenance Planning Foreman develops, schedules, and optimizes preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance work for ship to shore (STS) cranes, rail mounted gantry (RMG) cranes, rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes, shuttle trucks (ST), and associated equipment at GPA's Ocean Terminal.

JOB DUTIES:
- Plans and schedules all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and engine maintenance and repairs on container cranes, RMG cranes, RTG cranes, ST, and other crane associated equipment.
- Develops and maintains detailed job plans for maintenance activities, including labor, materials, tools, permits, and equipment requirements.
- Make appropriate recommendations for correction of hazards, procedural discrepancies, deterioration of equipment.
- Consult with operations to determine their needs and equipment availability to coordinate maintenance activities. Plan and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly job plans.
- Maintains all maintenance planning aspects of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) including creating, releasing and closing of preventative and corrective maintenance work orders, updating equipment spare parts and BOM, identification and tracking of recurring issues.
- Supports the migration of CMMS from SAP to Maximo. Assist in the establishment of equipment hierarchies, maintenance plans and task lists, spare parts BOM and other information requires.
- Selects, orders, and expedites materials, tools, and equipment necessary for jobs.
- Reviews and prioritizes incoming work requests; scopes jobs by collaborating with technicians, foremen, and engineers to define work details.
- Audits PM program for updates and compliance. Conduct regular audits of completed work orders to verify job completion quality, documentation, and lessons learned.
- Audits inventory of parts to ensure proper amount of spare parts on hand. Coordinates with procurement and storeroom teams to ensure timely availability of spare parts, consumables, and vendor services.
- Tracks and updates maintenance backlog, open work orders, and job completion status.
- Participate in root cause failure analysis and reliability improvement initiatives by gathering failure data and maintenance history.
- Exhibits leadership and resolves all problems relating to equipment maintenance and repair.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and environmentally acceptable working environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership ability required.
- Proficient in maintenance planning and scheduling principles, CMMS usage, and work order management.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used port equipment and container cranes.
- Ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic schematic diagrams, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Experience materials management, procurement processes, and vendor coordination.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Must be willing and able to climb and work at high elevations.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with the GPA staff on all levels of administration including management and co-workers required.
Experience
- Five years of maintenance planning, reliability, or maintenance coordination experience in port, industrial, or heavy equipment industries. Required
- 10 years experience in port equipment or industrial maintenance. Required
- Experience on GPA container cranes Preferred
- Experience using CMMS (SAP or Maximo preferred) Required
Education
- Required High School Diploma Or equivalent
- Preferred Certified vocational technical school training in electronics
- Preferred Electrical/electronic technology associate or engineering degree
Licenses & Certifications
- TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Required
- Driver's License - Valid state driver's license Required
