Metal Supermarkets – Kent, WA
Seeking a Higher-Level Inside Sales Representative
We're looking for someone exceptional.
This is not a job for someone who wants to punch a clock, avoid responsibility, or do the bare minimum. We're looking for a person who takes pride in their work, enjoys helping customers, likes staying busy, and naturally jumps in wherever they're needed.
If you're the type of person who says, "That's not my job," this probably isn't the right fit.
If you're the type of person who sees what needs to be done and gets it done, we'd love to meet you.
About the Role
As an Inside Sales Representative at Metal Supermarkets, you'll be the primary point of contact for customers looking for metal products and processing services. You'll provide fast, accurate quotes, build relationships with repeat customers, and help ensure every customer has an exceptional experience.
This is a fast-paced role that blends customer service, sales, problem-solving, and occasional hands-on work in the shop. No two days are exactly the same.
What You'll Do
- Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and in person
- Prepare accurate quotes and process sales orders efficiently
- Build strong relationships with customers and identify opportunities to help them succeed
- Coordinate with the shop team to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time
- Check inventory and material availability when needed
- Assist customers picking up will-call orders
- Occasionally step into the shop to make a simple cut or help keep work flowing
- Learn our products, capabilities, and processes to confidently guide customers toward the right solution
- Assist with quoting for value-added services such as waterjet cutting and press brake forming
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in inside sales, customer service, or a similar role
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- A team-first mentality and willingness to jump in wherever needed
- Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Experience reading drawings and using CAD software is strongly preferred. While it represents a small portion of the role, CAD experience is valuable when assisting with waterjet and forming quotations.
- Manufacturing, metal industry, fabrication, or industrial experience is a plus
The Kind of Person Who Succeeds Here
- You show up on time and can be counted on.
- You don't lose your cool when things get busy.
- You genuinely enjoy helping customers.
- You take ownership and solve problems instead of waiting for someone else to fix them.
- You move with urgency without sacrificing accuracy.
- You aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and help in the shop when needed.
- You have a strong work ethic and take pride in doing things the right way.
To Apply
A cover letter is required and applications submitted without a cover letter will not be considered.
In your cover letter, please tell us:
- Why you believe you're a great fit for this role

- What attracts you to this opportunity
If you're looking for a place where hard work, reliability, and initiative are valued—and where you can make a real impact every day—we'd like to hear from you.
