BDI Marine Contractors, LLC is seeking a dependable and experienced Mechanic / Service Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of construction equipment, vehicles, trailers, and small engines. This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, works well independently, and takes pride in keeping equipment safe and operational.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel-related issues
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, oil changes, and preventative service
- Service trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, generators, pumps, compressors, and small engines
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns in the shop and at active job sites
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Track parts, supplies, and upcoming maintenance needs
- Inspect equipment for safety concerns and report major repair needs
- Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean and organized
- Coordinate with supervisors and field personnel regarding equipment availability
- Assist with transporting or recovering equipment when necessary
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a mechanic, service technician, diesel technician, or construction equipment mechanic preferred
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and general equipment repair
- Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs with limited supervision
- Must have your own basic hand tools
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work outdoors in Florida weather conditions
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- CDL is a plus but not required
- Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to respond to occasional field service needs
