Position Summary:
Position includes being a personal assistant/caregiver that provides personalized support to an adult with developmental needs. The role involves assisting participants in job skills development, community integration, church activities and daily living activities, ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. HOURS ARE: 1 weekday and 1 weekend day per week. More shifts may become available over time. There will be a trial period for the first 2-4 weeks at the pay rate of $25 per hour. After the trial period, you will be added to pay roll and the pay rate increases to $32 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist participants in developing job skills and performing tasks related to employment or community participation.
- Provide 1:1 support to participants during work or program and community activities.
- Monitor participant safety and well-being at all times.
- Collaborate with parents, employer, and family members to create consistent support strategies.
- Encourage independence and social integration through engaging activities.
- Assist with transportation to, from, and within the program as needed with client's provided vehicle.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and respectful environment.
- Be reliable, engaged, and on time.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with adults with disabilities or in a supportive role preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to foster a supportive, respectful, and engaging environment.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance, and reliable transportation required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical activities related to the job.
