Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of barbering services including haircuts, shaves, beard trims, and grooming using straight razors and other professional tools
- Deliver expert hair styling, coloring, hair extensions, and hair threading tailored to each client's preferences
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about their desired looks and offering professional recommendations
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with state regulations and salon policies
- Utilize salon software systems such as MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client records, and retail sales tracking
- Upsell retail products like hair care items, styling products, and nail care essentials to enhance client experience and salon revenue
- Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair coloring, makeup application, eyelash extensions, and retail math strategies
Experience
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license with current certification required
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with expertise in hair styling, coloring, and grooming techniques
- Familiarity with salon software platforms such as MINDBODY or similar systems
- Strong knowledge of sanitation practices and safety standards within a salon environment
- Excellent communication skills for client consultation and team collaboration
- Experience with retail sales, upselling techniques, and client retention strategies
- Background in providing services like hair threading, eyelash extensions, nail care, or makeup application is a plus
