In this vital role, you will support lead teachers in implementing educational activities that promote early childhood development, literacy, math skills, and social-emotional growth. Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons focused on literacy, math, and early childhood education standards.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies aligned with educational regulations such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
- Supervise children during activities, transitions, meals, and outdoor play to ensure safety and proper child supervision.
- Use educational technologies and computers to enhance learning experiences and support individual student needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress, classroom activities, and behavioral updates to foster strong home-school connections.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualized plans for students with disabilities or special needs, including those with autism or other developmental differences.
- Maintain classroom organization, assist with proofreading educational materials, and support tutoring or mentoring sessions as needed.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in early childhood education settings or similar environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom behavior management techniques, and educational compliance standards such as ESSA.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism to support inclusive learning environments.
- Familiarity with Montessori or private school teaching methodologies is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire.
- Proven ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
