The Production Associate position with Westwind will demonstrate strong work ethic, mechanical and technical aptitude, and a track record of quality. This position is part of a defined career ladder with successful Production Associates positioned for success and advancement to Senior Production Associate and then Production Team Lead. Each level of the career ladder provides greater challenge, responsibility, and compensation.
POSITION PURPOSE
Under direct supervision the incumbent will perform production tasks independently and as part of a team including but not limited to workstation preparation, material setup, equipment / machinery setup, production, packaging, and cleanup for two assigned production workstations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform daily review of the production schedule and assigned workstation and report as assigned in a timely manner.
- Prepare assigned workstation with appropriate raw materials, packaging, and supplies based on standard operating procedures and production requirements.
- Preparation of raw materials to create assigned SKUs in accordance with the specific Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for that SKU.
- Perform equipment inspection, start up, operation, troubleshooting, and shut down in accordance with established SOPs.
- Perform routine restocking of Kanban stations with packaging, labels, and supplies in a consistent and timely manner to support effective and efficient production activities.
- Report all equipment issues, malfunctions, and problems to management and document in accordance with established SOPs.
- Execute the Quality Control SOP when assigned to the quality control check point.
- Perform assigned daily cleaning and reset tasks to maintain a clean and orderly workspace in the production and warehouse designated spaces.
- Identify and report any raw material, in process, or finished product defects to the Production Supervisor based on comparison of SOPs and visual production aids.
- Attend and participate in assigned team and organization meetings and contribute as appropriate.
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Ensure accurate reporting of time worked by clocking in and out at the start and end of your work shift and meal break using the provided timeclock technology.
- Assists in organizing production area and manufacturing equipment as needed and assigned.
- Follow all safety procedures when working with equipment by following the LOTOTO (lock out, tag out, try out) SOPs.
- Execute all duties in accordance with established SOPs and Safety Protocols to ensure consistency, quality, and safe execution of your assigned tasks.
- Completes all assigned training for the position to include SOPs, process and practices, equipment and machinery use, troubleshooting and cleaning.
- Executes all duties and responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner adhering to confidentiality obligations, safety expectations, and compliance requirements.
- Carries out duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations and guidelines.
- Successfully completes assigned regulatory and job training requirements.
- Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
- Remains current in profession and industry trends.
- Demonstrates a passion and commitment to continuous improvement through the development and presentation of change recommendations starting with a business case and following through to implementation.
- Is available for other duties as required.
- Is available for overtime as needed.
PEOPLE LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six (6) months of experience performing production duties in a manufacturing environment; or one (1) year of professional work experience.
- Successful completion of measurement training.

- Demonstrated ability to use a tape measure to accurately identify and document material measurements.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Basic working knowledge and understanding of manufacturing equipment or machinery.
- Familiar with woodworking or cabinetry concepts and terminology.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed of work and attention to detail without loss to production.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / TRAVEL

Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
