Food Service Director Qualifications & Responsibilities:
High School diploma or equivalent
serv safe certified
experienced as Food Service Director in a skilled nursing facility for 3 years
Long term care dietary management experience preferred
Inspects the Dietary Department daily to ensure that it is safe and sanitary
Submits written reports to the administration as necessary
Plans nutritionally balanced & therapeutic meals that reflect the likes and dislikes of residents, as well as Public Health regulations
Responsible for food purchase, production, and timely service of meals
Directs and supervises all dietary functions and personnel
Hires, orients, trains, counsels, disciplines, and when appropriate, terminates dietary staff
Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure proper food preparation and service.
Ensure meals are prepared in accordance with dietary requirements, nutrition standards, and facility guidelines.
Monitor food safety practices to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Maintain inventory levels and order food and supplies as necessary.
Assist with menu planning and implement resident-specific dietary needs.
Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas.
Maintain accurate records, including food temperature logs and sanitation reports.
Ability to work independently or part of a group
