Overview
Legara, Inc. partners with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) to improve access to high-quality mental health care. We pair licensed, independent clinicians with health centers and handle credentialing, onboarding, scheduling, billing, and payments, allowing you to focus entirely on patient care.
This role supports a long-standing FQHC partner serving predominantly low-income, Spanish-speaking seniors in Campo, CA. The patient population is high-need and often faces significant barriers to specialty mental health care, including moderate to severe mood disorders and substance use disorders.
Clinicians may determine how many hours per week they would like to work by choosing to work full days or half days. The number of required in-person days in Campo, CA will vary, typically 2-3 days per week and will be reimbursed at $100 per day.

What You’ll Do
Encounter Types
Initial Evaluations:
- 30–45 minutes
- ~4 per clinic day (more early on)
Follow-Up Visits:
- 30 minutes
- ~10 per clinic day
Clinical Responsibilities
- Chart directly in the health center’s EMR (Epic experience a plus).
- Participate in brief care-team huddles.
- Collaborate with primary care, behavioral health, and case management teams.
- Provide culturally responsive care in fluent medical Spanish.
Schedule & Flexibility
- 2-3 in clinic days per week ($100 travel reimbursement for onsite days),
- 2 remote clinic days (weekdays, selected mutually; adjustable with notice).
- No nights, weekends, or after-hours inbox.
- Engagement length is open-ended; schedule can scale up/down with agreement.
- Credentialing typically takes 4-8 weeks, after which training begins.
Compensation & Support
- Encounter-based pay, minimum $1940 per week (depending on mix of encounters, cancellations, and no-shows).
- Weekly compensation; annual 1099-K provided.
- $100 per day travel reimbursement for onsite days
- Clinician carries their own $1M / $3M malpractice policy.
- Comprehensive admin/scheduling support, no self-booking.
- Consulting psychologist available for guidance.
Must-Have Qualifications
- LMFT, LCSW, or Psychologist with an unrestricted California license.
- Fluent in medical Spanish (speaking, reading, and documentation).
- Strong technical proficiency; ability to quickly learn healthcare software systems such as Epic, telehealth platforms, and virtual phone systems.
- Comfortable serving Medi-Cal and uninsured patients; safety-net experience preferred.
- Reliable broadband, webcam, and private workspace for telehealth, plus ability to commute to Campo.

- You will be a contractor receiving a 1099, not a W-2 employee. Will that work for you?
- Compensation is based on the number of completed encounters at $60 per encounter. Our clinicians complete an average of eleven 30-minute encounters per day. It can take a few weeks to fill out a new clinician's schedule. With this in mind, we can offer a number of weeks with minimum guaranteed pay of $1940/wk or the encounter rate, which ever is higher.
