Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring to ensure efficient meal assembly
- Assist with cooking tasks such as sautéing, grilling, and baking under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to maintain cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination
- Support menu planning by organizing ingredients and prepping components ahead of service times
- Handle food with care during storage, portioning, and presentation to uphold quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, including sanitizing utensils and surfaces regularly
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and smooth kitchen operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments preferred
- Proficiency in knife skills and basic culinary techniques necessary for meal prep tasks
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with menu planning, catering processes, and food service operations is a plus
