Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for retail, with the ability to motivate and develop staff while maintaining a positive shopping environment.
Duties
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Supervise and train retail staff, providing employee orientation and ongoing coaching.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and effective problem resolution.
- Manage inventory levels, including stock replenishment and organization of merchandise displays.
- Operate cash registers and POS systems accurately while handling transactions efficiently.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager on sales strategies to meet or exceed store goals.
- Maintain store standards for cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory and assist in loss prevention efforts.
- Facilitate effective communication between management and staff to ensure alignment on store objectives.
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales with a strong understanding of customer service principles.
- Proficiency in cash register operations and POS systems.
- Strong negotiation skills to handle customer inquiries and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Experience in inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
- Ability to manage shifts effectively, ensuring adequate staffing during peak hours.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Administrative skills for maintaining records, reports, and compliance with company policies.
- Must stand/walk for long periods of times
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs. over your head.
