Camp Wagalong is an innovative new dog boarding and day camp concept. Located on 5 acres in Bogart, GA, we offer dogs more physical, sensory, and mental enrichment compared to traditional facilities, paired with convenience to make life easier for our pet parents. To help us grow this new brand we are seeking an experienced leader who enjoys coaching team members and loves being around dogs!
The Role:
The Assistant Camp Director works with the Camp Director to lead daily operations, oversee dog health and safety, direct camp activities, and ensure our customer experience is exceptional. The Assistant Camp Director sets the day’s pace, ensures camp-wide execution, supports the host team with client communications, oversees and helps to drive the camp bus, and works to maintain a fun and diligent culture.
Responsibilities Include…
Team Leadership
- Team Performance: Setting a positive, energetic, and hardworking pace each day for the team to drive accountability and meet safety, health, and activity benchmarks.
- Coaching: Provide regular guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback to elevate team performance.
- Onboarding & Training: Train new hires on safety standards and operational procedures.
Customer Experience
- Customer Service: Assists with, and ensures, an outstanding customer service experience that makes life easier for our customers both onsite, from our office to our drive thru, as well as our digital communications,
- Issue Resolution: Handle complex inquiries, special reservations, and escalated client concerns.
- Daily Report Cards: Oversee the accuracy and creation of engaging daily updates for pet parents.
Dog Activity & Health
- Activity: Creating the daily schedule dog play and services for the camp while also engaging with dog activity and care.
- Health & Nutrition: Oversee meal preparation, special diets, and medication administration.
- Facility Cleanliness: Ensure all indoor and outdoor cleaning protocols are strictly met.
Qualifications
- Leadership Experience: Experience in leading and coaching a team.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, sit, or walk for extended periods (both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions).
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Hours: The average work week should consist of approximately 40-45 hours balanced with the demands and needs of the business. A mix of a few AM shifts from 6:30am-2:30pm and a couple of 11am-7pm shifts each week.
- Weekend and holiday availability is required.
