Silverton High School is seeking an Office Specialist I to serve as the welcoming face of our Front Office Welcome Center!
As an Office Specialist I, you'll do much more than answer phones and complete clerical tasks—you'll be the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors, helping create a welcoming, organized, and supportive environment from the moment they walk through our doors.
This part-time (4 hours per day) position is centered around the Front Office Welcome Center and reception area, where you'll greet guests, answer questions, connect visitors with the right resources, and help ensure the front office operates smoothly each day. As an Office Specialist I, you will:

Serve as the welcoming face of Silverton High School for students, families, visitors, and community members.

Create positive first impressions and provide outstanding customer service.

Help ensure the school's front office and reception area operate efficiently and professionally.

Support administrators and staff by providing clerical and administrative assistance.

Contribute to a safe, organized, and student-centered learning environment.
This position combines reception, customer service, organization, communication, and administrative support. Key responsibilities include:

Welcome visitors, answer phones, and provide friendly, professional assistance at the Front Office Welcome Center.

Direct students, families, and visitors to the appropriate staff and resources.

Support school administration and staff with clerical tasks including typing, filing, copying, proofreading, and data entry.

Prepare enrollment packets, parent communications, newsletters, mailings, and other school materials.

Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and office supply inventories.

Collect and process payments received through the school office.

Assist teachers with classroom materials and other instructional support needs.

Coordinate homework requests and assignments for students who are unable to attend school.

Respond to student needs, provide basic first aid within district guidelines, and assist with student supervision as needed.

Maintain confidentiality while working accurately in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
This is a part-time position (4 hours per day) located at Silverton High School. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people, stays organized while balancing multiple priorities, and takes pride in creating a positive experience for everyone who enters the school.

High School Diploma or GED.

One year of general clerical or office experience is preferred.

Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

First Aid/CPR certification and a valid Oregon Driver License (or the ability to obtain) are preferred.
