Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Stand Up Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating sit-down forklifts to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse environment. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation and materials handling will ensure smooth shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes. Duties
- Safely operate stand up forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately track inventory movements and order picking
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper placement of goods using pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment
- Assist with order picking, shipping & receiving processes, and inventory organization
- Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and heavy equipment to ensure mechanical safety and proper functioning in compliance with OSHA standards
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate material flow and optimize storage space
- Support the use of cranes, construction equipment, and other heavy machinery as needed for specialized tasks
Requirements
- Proven experience operating stand up forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting
- Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution, materials handling, and heavy equipment operation
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations related to forklift operation and warehouse safety practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on a daily basis
- Experience with RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and order picking procedures
- Mechanical knowledge of forklift maintenance and troubleshooting is preferred
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving, construction environments, or working with crane operations is a plus
- Valid certification for forklift operation; additional certifications such as crane or clamp truck operation are advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
