The Barista is the welcoming face of Hotel ZaZa's coffee and beverage program, crafting handcrafted coffee, espresso, and specialty beverages while delivering warm, attentive, and memorable guest experiences. This role requires precision, consistency, and genuine hospitality, ensuring every cup meets Hotel ZaZa's quality standards from first greeting to final sip. The Barista maintains a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee bar, supports accurate cash handling and point-of-sale operations, and partners closely with Food & Beverage leadership to uphold brand standards and guest satisfaction. This role offers a strong foundation for growth within Hotel ZaZa's Food & Beverage division.
Key Responsibilities:
Beverage Preparation & Service
Prepare and present coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages in accordance with Hotel ZaZa recipes, presentation, and quality standards.
Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment, ensuring proper calibration and cleanliness throughout each shift.
Accurately take and fulfill guest orders in a timely manner, confirming customizations and dietary accommodations.
Maintain consistency in taste, temperature, and presentation across all beverages served.
Guest Experience
Greet and engage every guest with a warm, genuine, and professional demeanor, creating a memorable first impression.
Anticipate guest needs, answer menu questions knowledgeably, and offer suggestions or upsells where appropriate.
Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to a supervisor when necessary.
Maintain awareness of hotel offerings, promotions, and events to confidently assist guests with additional requests.
Point of Sale
Accurately process transactions through the point-of-sale system, including credit, and room-charge payments.
Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with hotel policy.
Follow proper documentation and reporting procedures for all sales, voids, and comps.
Inventory & Cleanliness
Monitor and maintain adequate levels of coffee, dairy, syrups, cups, and other bar supplies, communicating shortages to leadership.
Properly date, label, and rotate stock following First In, First Out (FIFO) practices.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized coffee bar, workstation, and guest seating area throughout the shift, adhering to health and safety standards.
Assist with receiving and storing beverage-related deliveries as needed.
Professional Standards
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with Hotel ZaZa standards.
Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and operating procedures.
Maintain a professional appearance, and wearing the required uniform.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Prior barista, coffee shop, or food and beverage service experience preferred.

Working knowledge of espresso equipment, brewing methods, and coffee preparation techniques.

Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage guests in a warm and professional manner.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Working knowledge of food and beverage safety and sanitation standards, including proper dating, labeling, and FIFO rotation.

Physical Requirements:
