Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Equipment Assembly Technician to join our team. The Equipment Assembly Technician is responsible for the dismantling, rebuilding, adjustment, cleaning, inspection, repair, painting, assembly (including electrical hookup), and adaptation of equipment for demonstration and development tests. This role plays a critical part in maintaining primary and auxiliary equipment and facilities. The Equipment Assembly Technician should be able to read and interpret blueprints and work with various hand and power tools to disassemble and reassemble machinery, replacing defective or worn parts as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Dismantle, rebuild, adjust, clean, inspect, repair, and assemble equipment for demonstration and development tests, including electrical hookup.
- Read and interpret applicable blueprints and use hand and power tools to disassemble machinery.
- Lay out mating parts of assemblies, locate, scribe, and/or spot punch parts for additional machining.
- Prepare and apply industrial/commercial coatings, including painting of equipment as required.
- Replace defective or worn parts and reassemble machinery.
- Adjust clearance and timing of control devices to specifications.
- Operate, clean, and reassemble all primary and auxiliary machinery as required, following written or verbal instructions.
- Set up and prepare primary and auxiliary equipment and establish rates as instructed.
- Operate primary and auxiliary test machinery, recording relevant data as directed.
- Conduct routine evaluations of sample materials as required and directed.
- Modify components for tests as necessary to provide a successful demonstration.
Qualifications
- Knowledge equivalent to completion of an accredited apprenticeship or 3 years of technical training beyond high school.
- 3 - 5 years of experience operating general shop machinery to support customer requirements.
- 3 - 5 years of experience reading and interpreting a variety of blueprints and schematics, including hydraulic blueprints.
- 5 years of experience using hand tools, small power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- 3 - 5 years of experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and/or pipe fitting.
- Experience with industrial/commercial equipment painting.
- Willingness to work shift hours between 6:00 am and approximately 2:30 pm.
