Powder Coater / Painter in Greenville SC
Position Summary
The Powder Coater is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing metal components to ensure a high-quality, durable finish that meets production and customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare metal surfaces through cleaning, sanding, masking, and other pre-treatment processes.
- Apply powder coating to metal parts and components using spray equipment.
- Ensure proper coating thickness, color consistency, and finish quality.
- Inspect finished parts for defects and perform touch-ups as needed.
- Load and unload parts from curing ovens while monitoring curing requirements.
- Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and production specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of powder coating equipment and work areas.
- Maintain production quality standards and complete required documentation.
- Safely handle materials and move parts throughout the production process.
- Collaborate with production, fabrication, and assembly teams to meet deadlines.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Previous powder coating, painting, or industrial finishing experience preferred.
- Manufacturing or fabrication experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of coating preparation and application techniques.
- Ability to use measuring tools and perform quality inspections.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
